About Our Adult Courses

The part-time classes at GLAFA offer the same core curriculum as the full-time program, but are taught in a less intensive format. Students begin with preliminary drawing exercises, and, if they choose to continue with the program long-term, progress to charcoal drawing from life and eventually to black and white and full-color still life oil painting.

Critiques and instruction are individualized to accommodate each student, and classes are open to all, regardless of prior experience or skill level. Any student with the desire to learn and improve will find their efforts commensurately rewarded by an improved ability to realize their personal artistic goals. If taken to heart, the lessons learned in these classes will provide the building blocks to produce more advanced and creatively satisfying artworks.
